If you are considering treatment for lines caused or worsened by facial movement, the first step is a face-to-face anti-wrinkle consultation. This appointment is used to decide whether a prescription-only treatment is appropriate for you. A prescription is not automatic, and the consultation does not mean treatment will definitely be prescribed or carried out.
This is a face-to-face medical consultation to assess whether a prescription-only treatment for lines and wrinkles may be suitable for you. I will take a full medical history, discuss your concerns and assess facial movement before explaining the options, limitations and risks clearly.
Depending on your concerns, we may discuss forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet, brow movement, bunny lines, a dimpled chin, neck bands, jaw clenching or teeth grinding and excessive sweating. The final plan is based on your assessment.
Some anti-wrinkle treatments involve a prescription-only medicine, so I need to assess your suitability and medical history before deciding whether a prescription is appropriate. You will also have time to consider the information before treatment.
No. A prescription may not be appropriate, and even if treatment is considered, you do not have to go ahead. I will explain what I think is sensible and why.
If treatment is later agreed, I will make the appointment as comfortable as possible, explain each step and provide clear aftercare. Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur after injections, and we will discuss the possible downtime in depth before you decide.

Will I definitely be prescribed treatment?
No. The consultation is an assessment, not a promise of treatment. I will only prescribe if I believe it is clinically appropriate and you have made an informed decision.
Why must the consultation be at least 48 hours before treatment?
This gives you time to understand the advice, consider the potential benefits and limitations, ask questions and make a decision without feeling rushed.
Will I still be able to move my face?
The aim is not necessarily to remove all movement or expression. I will discuss the result you are hoping for and explain what is realistic for your facial movement and anatomy.
Can I book if I have never had an anti-wrinkle treatment before?
Yes. The consultation is designed to give you the information you need, whether you are completely new to treatment or are considering a different approach.
What happens if I am worried after treatment?
You will receive aftercare and contact details. If something does not feel right, contact me rather than waiting and worrying. For a medical emergency, call 999.
Every treatment starts with an honest, unhurried assessment. If you're not sure this is the right one for you, a new client consultation is a good place to begin instead.
