Sculptra is an injectable biostimulatory treatment used as part of a longer-term plan. It works differently from a treatment designed to create an immediate change in one area: the aim is gradual improvement in support, skin quality or volume as the body responds over time.
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid and is designed to stimulate your own collagen production gradually. It may be considered where the aim is to improve support, skin quality or lost volume, but it is not a quick-fix treatment and it is not suitable for everyone.
It may be considered for selected concerns such as loss of facial support, reduced volume or changes in skin quality. The right plan depends on your anatomy, medical history, expectations and whether another treatment would be more appropriate.
I will explain the treatment, the gradual nature of the result and the reason a course may be recommended. I will make the appointment as comfortable as possible and discuss possible swelling, tenderness, bruising and aftercare in depth before treatment.
Sculptra should not be chosen without an assessment. We will discuss your aims, the limitations of treatment and whether it is the right option for you before any treatment is planned.
| Slimming lift | From £400 |
| Restorative volume treatment | From £400 |
A course of treatments may be recommended. Consultation advised before treatment.
Will I see an immediate result?
Sculptra is a gradual treatment, so the result should not be judged immediately after the appointment. I will explain the expected timescale and how progress would be reviewed.
Do I need more than one treatment?
A course may be recommended, but the plan depends on your face, your aims and how you respond to treatment. I will explain this before you decide.
How is Sculptra different from dermal filler?
Dermal filler is often used to create more immediate shape, support or volume in a specific area. Sculptra is designed to work gradually by stimulating collagen, so the treatment choice depends on the result you are hoping for.
What will I look like afterwards?
You may have temporary swelling, tenderness or bruising. I will explain the expected after-effects and aftercare so you know what to plan for.
Every treatment starts with an honest, unhurried assessment. If you're not sure this is the right one for you, a new client consultation is a good place to begin instead.
